Visit to the University of Reading

On 27 February 2026, a delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan under the auspices of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin paid an official visit to the University of Reading.

During the visit, the Foreign Minister held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading Professor Robert Van de Noort CBE, at which prospects for establishing cooperation with higher education institutions of Tajikistan were discussed.

Moreover, Head of the delegation delivered a lecture to students on Tajikistan’s global initiatives in the fields of water and climate and engaged in an exchange of views on the importance of sustainable international cooperation for ensuring effective water resource management and addressing climate change.

It is worth noting that the University of Reading holds a prominent position in international rankings for sustainability, being placed among the top 50 higher education institutions worldwide in this field.
